We have 4 advisors we rely upon for strengthening our ability to enhance the competitive advantages of our portfolio companies. Our advisors have a deep breadth of industry-specific experience and work closely with many of our portfolio companies as mentors or directors. Our advisors have started, managed, and sold many successful companies in health care and information services. Robert G. Allison, Advisor

Mr. Allison is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Innovate Partners, Inc., a private capital investment company serving, principally, emerging technology and consumer-based companies in Southern California. Innovate Partners’ current portfolio companies include: Ocean Minded (acquired by Crocs in 2007), Ultimate Ears (acquired by Logitech in 2008), Expensable Software, Innovate Technology, Innovate Motorsports (acquired by Dover in 2009), Canopy HR Solutions, and Metropark USA. Prior Innovate companies include: InterWorks (acquired by Sanmina in 2000), Jabra Corp. (acquired by GN in 2001), and Co-Ev Technologies (acquired by Tyco in 2002). From 1998 through 2004, Mr. Allison also served as a General Partner for the Edgewater Funds, a private equity firm based in Chicago. Prior to forming Innovate Partners in 1995, Mr. Allison served as the President and Director of Aurora Electronics Group (AMEX:AUR). From 1990-1993, Mr. Allison served as the Corporate Vice President of Semiconductor Marketing and Assets for Arrow Electronics, Inc. From 1984-1990, Mr. Allison was the founder and CEO of Insight Electronics, Inc., a specialized semiconductor distribution company serving the Western area of the United States. Insight was acquired by MEMEC, PLC (LE:MEMC) in 1990.

 

Jim Kever, Advisor

Jim Kever has served Claritas Capital as an advisor, limited partner, and co-investors since 2002. His background in health care information services, transaction processing, and software technology is a benefit to Claritas Capital portfolio companies and investors. Mr. Kever is the founding partner of Voyent Partners, LLC, an investment partnership founded in 2001. Mr. Kever served as Co-Chief Executive Officer of the transaction services division of WebMD from June 2000 to March 2001. From March 1999 through May 2000, Mr. Kever served as Chief Executive Officer of the transaction services division of Quintiles Transnational Corp. From August 1995 through March 1999, Mr. Kever was the President and Co-Chief Executive Officer of Envoy Corporation. Mr. Kever joined Envoy Corporation as Treasurer and General Counsel in October 1981. Mr. Kever also serves as a director of 3D Systems Corporation, Luminex Corporation, and Tyson Foods, Inc. Mr. Kever received a Juris Doctor degree from the Vanderbilt University School of Law and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Administration from the University of Arkansas.

 
Fred Goad, Advisor

Fred Goad has served as an advisor, limited partner, and direct co-investor to Claritas Capital and its portfolio companies since 2002. He is actively involved in several portfolio companies involving health care and information services. Since August 2001, he has been a member in Voyent Partners, LLC, a private investment company. Mr. Goad served as co-chief executive officer of the transaction services division of WebMD Corporation ("WebMD"), a provider of healthcare transaction, information and technology services, from June 2000 through March 2001. From March 1999 through May 2000, Mr. Goad served as senior advisor to the office of the president of the transaction services division of Quintiles Transnational Corporation ("Quintiles"), a contract research company providing a wide range of clinical research services for biotech and pharmaceutical clients. Mr. Goad served as co-chief executive officer and chairman of Envoy from June 1996 until Envoy was acquired by Quintiles in March 1999. From 1985 to June 1996, Mr. Goad served as president and chief executive officer of Envoy. Mr. Goad serves on the board of directors of Emageon Inc., a provider of information technology systems for hospitals, healthcare networks and imaging facilities, and several private companies. Mr. Goad holds a B.S. in business from the University of Virginia.

 
Robert C. Fisher, Jr., Advisor

Bob Fisher has been involved in venture investing for nearly 20 years and has been an advisor, limited partner and direct co-investor to Claritas Capital and its portfolio companies since 2002. In 2006 Mr. Fisher founded Jet Finance Group LLC, an aircraft leasing company focused on niche worldwide short term leasing of business aircraft. Prior to founding Jet Finance, Mr. Fisher was a founder and President of Prime Office Products, a nationwide office products distributor based in Nashville, Tennessee. Mr. Fisher primarily focused on acquisitions of office products dealers and financing for Prime’s growth. Prime grew to $140 million in revenues and was successfully sold in September 2005 to Staples. Prior to founding Prime, Mr. Fisher spent ten years as a partner with Massey Burch Capital Corp., one of the largest venture capital firms in the Southeast United States. While with Massey Burch, Mr. Fisher reviewed potential investments, negotiated transactions and served on the Board of Directors of portfolio companies in a variety of industries and counseled management regarding both operational and strategic issues. In addition, Mr. Fisher has made investments both as a General Partner and Limited Partner in numerous apartment complexes in the Southeast U.S. since 1990.
