R. Burton Harvey

Burton is a Managing Partner of Claritas Capital and leads the firm’s Mezzanine Fund investment program. Prior to joining Claritas, Burton was a founding partner and manager of two mezzanine funds sponsored by Morgan Keegan. He has provided over $250 million in mezzanine financing during the last 14 years, supporting the growth of dozens of companies. Burton has over 20 years experience in the financial services industry, primarily serving the Southeastern United States, and has a superior track record for selecting and structuring attractive financing products for proven management teams and their companies.

Prior to Morgan Keegan, Burton was with Finova Mezzanine Capital (formerly Sirrom Capital) where he served in a variety of investment and credit related roles, and also Bank of America and Wachovia Corporate Services.

Burton earned a B.S. from the University of Tennessee and an M.B.A. from the University of Tennessee’s College of Business Administration.

Harbert Mulherin

Harbert is an active investment advisor for the Claritas Capital Mezzanine Fund. He sources investment opportunities in the Southeast and Texas and is located in Dallas, Texas. Harbert has over 20 years experience in the financial services industry, having been involved and experienced in all aspects of private equity, fund management and direct investment strategy. His industry experience includes transactions in financial services, insurance, travel, information technology, services, transportation, software, and construction.

Harbert’s career in private equity was launched at EDS in Dallas, where he was responsible for sourcing merger and acquisition opportunities in North America where he negotiated over $1 billion in transactions. While at EDS, he was instrumental in building its private equity portfolio of roughly $600 million and was heavily involved in the subsequent sale of the portfolio companies in the secondary market. In addition to serving as a Principal of CS Partners, Inc. and a founder of Live Oak Capital, Harbert has served as a Board Member for several private equity funds and privately held companies.
