As a Private Equity Consultant to Claritas Capital, Jem Hudson focuses on evaluating and overseeing investments in the media and entertainment space for Claritas’ Sports, Media, & Entertainment (SM&E) strategy. SM&E deploys capital into emerging ventures that are poised to transform our culture through cutting-edge technology innovations that will reimagine end-user engagement and redefine concept of ownership. Additionally, Jem focuses on long-term investments in innovative, early-stage ventures within new industries. She currently works with Napster, Atacama, ARK, and Gatehouse Bio.

A graduate of Harvard College, Jem began her career at Deutsche Bank, where she advised leading tech companies on mergers and acquisitions, equity offerings, and leveraged buyouts. Jem later pursued an MBA at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, with a focus on strategic management. During her time at Wharton, Jem served as president and founding member of the Wharton Impact Investing Partners.

Jem further deepened her understanding of business strategy as a researcher at Harvard Business School, working directly with Harvard’s strategy expert Professor Michael E. Porter. She has applied her strategic and analytical insights to the investment management context across multiple settings, primarily through investment research and thought leadership.

Most recently, Jem was Director as part of the Strategy & Asset Allocation team at Liberty Mutual Investments (LMI), where she designed and led a key strategic initiative across LMI’s nearly $100 billion portfolio, including its highly regarded private equity vertical. She also regularly interacted with Senior Leaders at LMI and Liberty Mutual Insurance Group.

An entrepreneur at heart, Jem is passionate about turning strategic insights into clear action plans that can deliver tangible results, developing creative solutions to complex problems, and building exceptional organizations and teams where diversity of thought is truly valued.

Jem is a classically trained pianist and singer-songwriter, and she cherishes Nashville’s world-class music community and the inimitable creative energy of the Music City.
