Lee Ballew
Lee is a Vice President of Claritas Capital. Prior to joining Claritas, Lee spent three years in Morgan Keegan’s investment banking group. While at Morgan Keegan, Lee focused on mergers and acquisitions as well as public and private capital financings in a variety of industries, including; business and healthcare services, transportation and logistics, manufacturing and general industrial.
Prior to his tenure with Morgan Keegan, Lee was a senior analyst in Wachovia’s fixed income derivatives group.
Lee received his undergraduate degree from the University of Mississippi and an M.B.A. from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina where he assisted in managing the school’s investment portfolio and was a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma honorary society. Lee is a CFA charterholder. |

John H. Chadwick
.jpg) John Chadwick is the Managing Director of Claritas Capital. Prior to forming Claritas Capital, John served as a principal of Richland Ventures, one of the largest venture firms in the Southeast with over $340 million in assets under management across three venture funds. John has over fifteen years of experience in financial services, with over ten years of experience in venture capital.
During his tenure with Richland Ventures, John represented the firm on the boards of directors of Axolotl Corporation; The Delta Group; halftheplanet.com; Mattress Giant (acquired by Freeman Spogli); Network One Communications; Swell, Inc.; SynHRgy H.R. Technologies (acquired by Marsh & McClellan); and, TORCH Health Care (acquired by Merrill Gardens). He served as a visitor to the board of directors of Mainbancorp, Inc. (acquired by Prosperity Bancshares).
Currently, John represents Claritas Capital on the boards of directors for Empyrean Benefit Solutions; Blue Chip Surgical Center Partners, LLC; Continuum 700 (advisory board); eDō Interactive, Inc.; Filedby, Inc.; Sanovia Corporation; and, StudioNow,
Inc. In addition, John serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for Ensworth School. John graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in 1989, and graduated from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with an M.B.A. in 1995. |

Burton is a Managing Director of Claritas Capital and leads the firm’s Mezzanine Fund investment program. Prior to joining Claritas, Burton was a founding partner and manager of two mezzanine funds sponsored by Morgan Keegan. He has provided over $250 million in mezzanine financing during the last 14 years, supporting the growth of dozens of companies. Burton has over 20 years experience in the financial services industry, primarily serving the Southeastern United States.
Prior to Morgan Keegan, Burton was with Finova Mezzanine Capital (formerly Sirrom Capital) where he served in a variety of investment and credit related roles, and also Bank of America and Wachovia Corporate Services.
Burton earned a B.S. from the University of Tennessee and an M.B.A. from the University of Tennessee’s College of Business Administration. |

J. Donald McLemore, Jr.
Don is a Managing Director of Claritas Capital. Prior to joining Claritas Capital, Don served as a Partner and Chief Financial Officer of Massey Burch Capital Corp. Don has over twenty-six years of experience in financial services, with over twenty years of experience in venture capital.
As one of four principals at Massey Burch, Don shared responsibility for deal generation, portfolio management, fundraising, and investor relations. Don represented Massey Burch on the boards of directors of CellCall, Inc. (acquired by Nextel Communications); Dyntec, Inc.; ePacific, Inc.; HCCA International; MAILnet Services, Inc.; Prime Office Products (acquired by Staples); Synaxis Group; Inc. (acquired by First Horizon National Corp.); and, TCT Transit.
Prior to his tenure with Massey Burch, Don was named Partner of William Puryear & Co., earning that distinction at the youngest age in the history of the firm. He is a licensed CPA in the state of Tennessee.
Currently, Don represents Claritas Capital on the boards of Gateway Payment Services; MyOutDoorTV.com; Pace Investment Partners; Physicians Capital, Inc.; and, Dobie Media. He serves as a visitor to the boards of directors of Cybera, Inc, and HCCA International, Inc. In addition, Don served on the board of iPayment from its initial public offering in 2003 to its going private transaction in 2006. |

Mark L. McManigal
Mark is a Managing Director of Claritas Capital where he is responsible for raising funds, sourcing investment opportunities and working with portfolio companies. Prior to joining Claritas, Mark was a Managing Director at Barrington Associates, which was acquired by Wells Fargo in 2006, and his main duties included originating and managing merger and acquisition transactions with an emphasis on the consumer products, business services and distribution sectors.
Prior to joining Barrington Associates, Mark was a Managing Director in the Corporate Finance Department at Roth Capital Partners. Previously, he was a General Partner at Edgewater Private Equity Fund, LLP, which had over $250 million under management at the time. While at Edgewater he was involved in all facets of the business from raising the funds, to sourcing the deals, and working with the portfolio companies towards liquidity. He was on the board of several Edgewater portfolio companies that were successfully sold to Medquist (The MRC Group), GN Netcom/Great Nordic (JABRA), Sanmina (Interworks), GE Security (Infographic Systems), and Charterhouse (Logisticare).
Prior to Edgewater, he was a transactional lawyer and did the initial work to form Edgewater in 1990. Mr. McManigal earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1983 and his J.D. from the University of Iowa in 1985. |

Theresa Sexton
Theresa is Vice President of Claritas Capital. Prior to joining Claritas Capital, Theresa served as Director of Investor Services and Chief Accounting Officer for Massey Burch Capital Corp., a multi-fund venture firm with assets under management in excess of $250 million. Theresa has over 13 years experience in the venture industry working on a wide array of marketing, accounting, legal, analytical and special projects, including acting as liaison to the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Since joining Claritas Capital, Theresa has participated in fund formation and administration, operations and deal review. Theresa earned her B.B.A. at Belmont University and subsequently earned both an M.B.A. and M.ACC in Belmont’s Massey Graduate School of Business. |
