John is a Principal on the equity investment team.  He contributes to our portfolio of investments and stakeholders with deal sourcing, transaction analysis and diligence, financial modeling, and general board support. John currently serves on the boards of directors for Apcela, Alchemy 43, One of None (“1/X”), Pitch Labs (“Matchday”) and StudioNow, and is a board observer for SelectDr and Sharecare.  

Prior to Claritas Capital, John was an Investment Analyst with the long/short Tiger-family hedge fund Tiger Eye Capital. He headed research for the healthcare and consumer sectors, while also leading growth equity investments in pre-IPO companies and other private equity investments. Before this, John proudly served in the US Army as an Aviation Officer with the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR). In the military, he piloted heavily modified Special Operations Blackhawk helicopters and led organizations ranging from 25 to 240 soldiers, deploying a cumulative total of 15 months to Afghanistan, Iraq, and other nearby combat locations.

John graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2010 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, and later graduated from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 2021 with an M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting. He is an avid skier, surfer, and mountain biker, lover of the outdoors, and enjoys family hikes with his wife and two kids.
